Funeral services for Mr. Estes conducted in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Burial in the Blowing Springs Cemetery.
The Maury County native was born March 25, 1928, the son of the late Sidney Bond Estes and Mammie McKennon Estes.
He was the husband of the late Virginia Lucille Brown Estes.
Mr. Estes was retired from the Maury Co. Highway Department as a tractor operator and for many years worked for Rudy's Farm. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his children: Margaret Ellen (Billy) Smith of Lynnville, Tiny Jean (Wayne) Putman of Loretto and Danny Eural (Sharon) Estes of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Lee Estes, Leslie (Brad) English, Joe (Alana) Davidson, April (Jay) Bolton, Emily Estes and James Putman; step-grandchildren: Billy Lee (Felicia) Smith and Jennifer (William) Dubberley; 6 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; one sister: Josephine Grooms of Columbia and one daughter-in-law: Marie Estes of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Arnold Estes, four sisters; Pauline Boshers, Mattie Potts, Reba Odom and Vera Boshers and two brothers: Bro. L.D. Estes and Homer Estes.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
