"Mrs. Elizabeth Clayton, widow of William M Clayton, died on Tuesday, September 19,1916, after an illness of a little over a week, of paralysis. She was in her 73rd year. Six children survive: William H, Alexander and James Clayton of Southard; Richard B of Asbury Park; Mrs Jack Clevenger of Point Pleasant; and Mrs Charles B Estelle of Hope. There are 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The deceased is also survived by the following sister and brothers, Mrs J Wesley Matthews of Bethel; James Estelle of Southard; David Estelle of Asbury Park, and John Estelle of Maxim. The funeral services will be held Saturday at one o’clock at the house, and two o’clock at Bethel Church. They will be conducted by Rev. William T Tomlin of Greenville, assisted by Rev Wilfred Burch of Bethel; interment at Cedarlawn Cemetery. All are invited without further notice”.
