GALVESTON - Leon "Fidlo" Eriksen, age 68, passed from his happy home on Monday, October 27,1998.

Fidlo was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Eriksen; his mother, Rebecca Eriksen; brothers George Eriksen and William Eriksen of Galveston.

He leaves his loving wife Betty Eriksen; son Lynn and his wife, Mary Ann Eriksen; grandsons Lynn Jr. and Timothy Eriksen, and granddaughter, Stacey Eriksen of Spring, Texas; brother, Charles "Red" Eriksen; sisters Julia Dunlap, Agnes Brown and Charlotte Eriksen of Galveston, Rebecca Moore of Port Arthur, Texas; and Sylvia Yarbrough of Splendora, Texas. Fidlo will be missed by his
mother-in-law, Lovie Savanich, his brothers-in-law, David and Dennis Savanich of Galveston; sisters-in-law, Wanda Falks and husband, Raymond, and Wilda Hysmith; beloved friends, Kenneth and Yvonne Triesch and family.

Visitation was Wednesday, October 28,1998, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services'will be held Thursday, October 29,1998, at 11:00 a.m. in the J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Fidlo was a BOI who loved his city and his many friends. He was a local Country-Western musician who played and sang his way into many people's hearts for twenty-two years, and left them with dancing feet. He was a retired air-conditioner technician.

Pallbearers will include Jim "Boogie" Moody, Andrew Sanchez, Tony Sanchez, Tripo Popovich, Peter Savanich and Leo Galvan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Steinbauer and Sam Popovich, about whom Fidlo always said, "If you can't trust Sam, who can you trust?"
