Mildred M. Dubois, 68, of Pittston, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, October 6, 2010, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Her loving husband is Gilles "Gus" P. Dubois. Together, Gus and Mildred would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on December 6, 2010. Born on March 23, 1942, in Kingston, Mildred was a daughter of the late William and Adeline (Long) Eppley.
Mildred was raised in Edwardsville and attended the former Edwardsville High School.
A homemaker most of her life, Mildred took great pride in tending to the daily needs of her loving husband and children. Besides her role as a homemaker, Mildred also worked side-by-side with her husband in their roofing business, Gus Dubois Construction, Swoyersville. A loving and caring person, Mildred was a foster parent for many years. During her years as a foster parent, Mildred cared for 28 children.
Mildred and her husband, Gus, loved to travel together. During their 35 years of marriage, Mildred and Gus went on 24 cruises to various destinations throughout the world. A woman of many enjoyments, Mildred especially loved going shopping, playing cards and listening to her favorite country music. Family was the cornerstone of Mildred's life, and she cherished every moment she had with her loving family. Mildred held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and loved each one of her grandchildren unconditionally. Mildred will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her beautiful spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her devoted family and friends.
In addition to her parents, William and Adeline Eppley, Mildred was also preceded in death by her grandson Joseph DeArmitt; brother Alfred Eppley; and sisters, Florence DeArmitt and Rose Eppley.
In addition to her loving husband, Gus, Mildred is also survived by her children, Raymond DeArmitt and his wife, Linda, Harding, Ronald DeArmitt and his wife, Diane, Ransom, Patrick DeArmitt and his wife, Sheryl, Larksville, Sheila Perry, Luzerne, Sherry Pitcavage and her husband, David, Swoyersville, Jason Dubois and his wife, Micheal, Luzerne, and Kimberly Dubois, Swoyersville; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends; and her faithful dog, Sonny Boy.
Mildred's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. John Brady and also the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the gentle, kind, and compassionate care they bestowed upon Mildred during her time of illness.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Forty Fort, with the Rev. Donald A. Roberts Sr., pastor of the Forty Fort United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
