She was the widow of Edwin F. Butz. Born in Locust Valley she was the daughter of Willis and Edna (Frantz) Engler. She was a graduate of Allentown High School and Allentown Business College. Arlene co-owned with her husband, the E.F. Butz Insurance Agency in Emmaus for 30 years.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Emmaus where she was the treasurer of the 10-2 Club. Arlene served on the Resident Council of Phoebe Terrace where she resided for 16 years and volunteered at the Phoebe Home in the reception area for many years.
Survivors: Daughters, Rev. Geneva M. Butz of Philadelphia, Rev. Janice I. Butz and her husband Rev. William Kuntze of Bethlehem; son, Wayne D. and wife Linda of Wayne, PA; grandchild, Alex Butz; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Francis and Cal-vin Engler.
Services: 11 a.m., Saturday, February 27, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus, with the Rev. Dr. Paul W. Knappenberger officiating. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Church. Interment will be at Friedensville Union Cemetery, Friedensville. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville.
