The funeral services of
SAMUEL P. ENGLE
will take place at the Methodist Church, South, in Shelbyville, Missouri, on Friday, April 13, 1906, at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. J. J. Reed and assisted by Rev. J. M. O'Bryen.
Burial in I.O.O.F. cemetery. Burial services in charge of Odd Fellows, and assisted by Masons.
Born March 12, 1815; died April 11, 1906 at 6 p.m. Aged 91 years, 29 days.

Samuel P. Engle one of the oldest citizens of this county died at his home in Shelbyville at six o'clock Wednesday evening. He was ninety one years and twenty nine days old. The funeral will be held at the Shelbyville M. E. Church, south at ten o clock this morning.

Samuel P. Engle, a man 91 years of age and a long time resident of Shelbyville died last Wednesday. He was the oldest Odd Fellow in this county, and has always been a most excellent citizen, discharging all his duties with fidelity, and he had hosts of friends.

Samuel P. Engle Dead
Samuel Parker Engle died at his home in this city at 8:06 p. m. April 11, 1906, after a two weeks illness, aged 91 years and 29 days. He was the oldest resident of this city and one among the oldest of our county. He was born in Kentucky March 12, 1815. In his young manhood be married Miss Elizabeth McNear, and to this union three children were born all of whom are dead, together with the mother. On Sept. 26, 1845, he married Miss Elizabeth Small, with whom he lived for nearly 60 years, she dying on June 2nd last. To them were born 11 children, of whom three sons and four daughters yet live — William, Thomas and Samuel, Mrs. Robert Gooch, Mrs. Julius Baker, Mrs. Ella Nevius, Miss Lizzie Engle.
Mr. Engle with his family left Kentucky in 1857, first settling in Hannibal, but in the same year came to this city where he resided continuously until his death, He had been a member of the M. E. Church, South, for nearly 75 years, and was also a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows orders for 65 years. He was a quiet, inoffensive citizen and a good man living many years more than the allotted time.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Reed, assisted by Revs. J M. O'Bryen and S. H. Wainright, at the M. E. church, South, at 10 a. m. on Friday. Burial in the I. O. O. F. cemetery with the honors of Odd Fellowship.
