Born in Seiling to John D. & Louie England, sister of Lorene Rogers, John O. England, Leslie England, Earl England, & Roy (Julie) England.

Died at Country Cottage Assisted Living in Corinth, Miss. A long-time resident of Enid, she and Loyd moved to Mississippi.

Irene was married twice (1st) William Bateman in 1937 (div), m: (2nd) Loyd O. Benefiel in 1941. Mother of Betty Bateman Steffen LaFaver, Ronald D. Bateman, Leeann (Joe)Goodman.

Irene served in the Veterans of Foeign Wars Women's Auxiliary, was involved in church and school activities, attended Enid Business College and was secretary for Dr. Paul Remple.
