John Leslie England, age 71, died May 18, 1992.

Born May 24, 1920 in Tooele to Franklin and Mary Matilda Bolinder England. Married Norma Jean Wolfe, June 28, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.


He attended public schools in Tooele and Utah State University. Served a mission for the LDS Church in California from 1941 to 1943.


Worked at the ship yards in Sausalito, California after his mission release until drafted into the Army.


Served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. Returned home and married his sweetheart.Worked for the Post Office, the Army Reserve and Anaconda Copper.


After retiring he continued working on those things he enjoyed most. A superb handyman, he built the two homes in Tooele where he raised his family.


He also built his dream cabin in Idaho, which was the site of many happy family gatherings.


Active in the LDS Church, he served in Scouting and numerous other positions in the Tooele 2nd and 10th Wards.


Survivors: wife, three children and their spouses, John Larry and Cora England, West Jordan; Sharon and David Toronto, Kaysville;

William Dean and Marilyn England, Grantsville; 13 grandchlidren; brother, Glade England, Holladay; sister, Leile Wilson, Island Park, Idaho.


Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22, 1992, 11 a.m. in the Tooele 2nd Ward, 583 North 270 East.

Friends may call Tate Mortuary Thursday 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Friday at the Church.


Interment: Tooele City Cemetery.
