Mary Lucy Encinias, age 66, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, N.M. passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Las Vegas, N.M., on May 18, 1941, to the late Ernest Romero and Annie Duran Romero.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to fish and spend time with her family.
A lifetime Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Annie Romero; sister: Dolores Romero; brothers-in-law: Paul Arguello and Robert Gonzales; nephews: Charlie Romero and David Lorenzo Clark.
She is survived by her sons and daughters: Ernest Encinias and wife Donna of Albuquerque, Frankie Encinias and partner Ramon Chavez, Jake Encinias and wife Darlene, Ramona Encinias, Adrianna Coca and husband Cristobal and Gerald Encinias and wife Deborah all of Las Vegas, N.M.; father of her children: Frank Encinias of Gallup, N.M.; grandchildren: Erika Armendairz, Nicholas Encinias, Angela Encinias, Marissa Guevara, Shantel Encinias, Jacobo "Bubba" Encinias, Jr., Rose Marie Encinias, Samantha Encinias, Cameron Encinias, Augustine Coca, Adrian Coca, Christian Coca, Amor Encinias, Gerald Encinias, Jr. and Savannah Encinias; great-granddaughter: Alex Dallas; brothers and sisters: Joey Romero and wife Lucy of San Diego, Calif., Freddie Romero of Albuquerque, Anthony H. Romero and wife Christine of San Diego, Fabiola Arguello of Greeley, Colo., Carmen Gonzales and Kathy Gallegos and husband Lorenzo both of Albuquerque; god-mother and special aunt: Josie Romero of Las Vegas, N.M.; god-son: Danny Archuleta of Albuquerque; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Rosary devotional services will be conducted on Monday evening at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant.
Interment will follow at the San Jose Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Nicholas Encinias, Augustine Coca, Adrian Coca, Jacobo "Bubba" Encinias, Jr., Shantel Encinias and Angela Encinias. Serving as honorary bearers will be all her remaining grandchildren.
She will lie in state at the Rogers Chapel on Monday from noon to 5 p.m. where family and friends may call.
