Frances Allene Biddinger, July 16, 1912-Sept. 16, 2008, Frances Allene Biddinger, 96, of Life Care Center, 827 W. 13th Street, Rochester, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Life Care Center. She was born on July 16, 1912, in Newcastle Township, Fulton County, the daughter of Otis and Faye (Phoenix) Emmons. On July 27, 1933, in Rochester, she married Kermit D. Biddinger. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1971. Mrs. Biddinger had been a homemaker and, along with her husband, farmed and raised purebred hogs. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she played organ and piano and taught Sunday School. She was a past president of the Fulton County Federation of Clubs, which led the landscape project of the Fulton County Courthouse, and the Pleasant Valley Club. She was also a member of the Talma Farmer's Institute, Democrat Women's Club, served on the board of directors for the Fulton County Public Library, served as vice president of the Fulton County Board of Health, and helped coordinate the relief efforts for Talma after the 1974 tornado. Mrs. Biddinger was an avid reader and enjoyed music. Survivors include her son, Virgil and wife Phyllis Biddinger, Rochester; grandsons, Todd Biddinger, Rochester, Eric and wife Sarah Biddinger, Rochester; great-granddaughter, Cora Allene Biddinger, Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant granddaughter, Rita Biddinger. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Revs. Phil Pratt and Junior Bose officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Fulton County Public Library or the Democrat Women's Club.
