Walter "Walt" Emich, 90, was called home to be with his Lord on September 7, 2013.

Born in Akron, Walt lived here all of his life.

He was the co-owner of Emich Provision, owner of Dog and Suds and retired from Akron Public Schools.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

He will be remembered as a hardworking, loving family man that loved to travel.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth; brother, William Jr.; sisters, Lorene Cook, Shirley, Ella and Betty Emich;

Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rebecca; daughters, Jenni Campbell of Staunton, Va, Elise (Mark) Zielinski of Dayton, Lynette (William) Skidmore of Chardon; grandchildren, Meghan Shapiro, Ben Campbell, Caylin Campbell, Jared and Trisha Zielinski, Tiffany Bosiacki, Amy Hayward, Melissa Skidmore; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert, Alvin, Richard, Theodore, Gerald; sisters, Marilyn Lower, Emilie Tiffan, Evelyn Korodi.

Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron with Minister Eric Weingartner officiating.

Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park, Fairlawn, OH

Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeside Christian Church, 3535 Knollwood Ln., Akron OH 44313 or the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.
