Marvin M. Elrod, 75, of Bay died Monday, Oct. 24, at NEA Medical Center.

He lived his lifetime in Bay and served in the Army. He retired from General Electric in 1996 with 40 years of service as a quality control inspector. He was a part-time car driver for Blackwell-Baldwin Ford and Blackwell-Baldwin Cadillac and a former member of Bay School Board for 15 years. He was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Elrod of the home; a daughter, Kathy Cooper of Jonesboro; a son, Roger Elrod of North Little Rock; a brother, Dallas Elrod of Jonesboro; four sisters, Marvelene Rodgers of Bay, Shirley Elrod and Joyce Gunn, both of Tulare, Calif., and Lois Sell of Piggott; and a grandson, Brandon Cooper of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, F.S. and Ina Lee Smith Elrod.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nettleton Church of Christ, with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Carroll Hundley, Bill Passmore, Harry Vredingburgh, Charles Inboden, Bill Willard and Marvin Rickett.

Honorary pallbearers will include the elders and deacons of Nettleton Church of Christ and members of the Blackwell-Baldwin Driving Team.

Visitation will be from 5?7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
