Eveline came from the Oneida Indian Nation of New York. The Oneida homeland in New York and were driven out of New York from about six million acres to 4,500 acres by 1839.

They are one the First Families of the American Indians. The American Oneida Indian Nation was originally situated in the state of New York.

The Oneida Indian Nation provided relief to the Continental army at Valley Forge during the punishing winter of 1777-1778. The Oneida Indian Nation and Alexander Hamilton were great friends. Alexander Hamilton helped finance and with the help of the Oneida Indian Nation, opened a school in New York to inform the different peoples of the Oneida Indian Nation customs and language.

During the U.S. Civil War, the Oneida supported the United States and over one hundred Oneida men served in the Union Army.
