Lillian S. Douglass of Sequim died in Portland, Ore., at age 85.

She was born in Denver to Rial E. and Althea V. (Jeffrey) Elliott and raised in Seattle, where she graduated from Queen Anne High School and then attended business college.

She married Bernard S. ``Barney'' Douglass in Mount Vernon on June 29, 1941.

The couple moved to Washington County, Ore., in the late 1950s.

She worked with her husband on their Loch Lolly Christmas Tree Forest, which was named after her.

She maintained a second home in Sequim.

Survivors include sons Robert E. of Beaver Creek, Ore., and David B. and Kelvin R., both of Banks, Ore.; daughters Sharon Black Zumdieck of Bellevue and Carole Douglass of North Plains, Ore.; brother Richard Elliott of Seattle; sister Amberetta Klusman of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her husband of 50 years died in 1993. She was also preceded in death by sisters Edna Hanley and Pearl Welch.

Services: Monday, Aug. 9, 2 p.m., memorial in Old Scotch Church, 30685 New Scotch Church Road, Hillsboro, Ore. Inurnment will follow in the Old Scotch Church Cemetery.

Fir Lawn Mortuary, Hillsboro, Ore., is in charge of arrangements.
