Daughter of Charles and Jane Evans, wife of Joseph Ellam whom she married on December 25, 1879 at the Parish Church in St. Mathew, Stretford, Lancaster, England, and mother of John, Joseph Vesey, Frederick, Olive, and Sybil Ellam.

Obituary - On Sunday, November 27, 1938, at her residence, 5462 12th Avenue, Rosemount, Clara S. Evans, beloved wife of Joseph Ellam, aged 80 years. Funeral from the Chapel of Jos. C. Wray & Bros., 1234 Mountain Street, at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, to Mount Royal Cemetery. Manchester and London, England papers please copy. (Montreal Gazette, November 29, 1938, page 12)
