Birth: Dec. 3, 1913
Brigham City
Box Elder County
Utah, USA
Death: Apr. 5, 2007
Weber County
Utah, USA

On April 5, 2007, after 93 years of a wonderful and full life, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, returned to her Father in Heaven.

Mother was born in Brigham City, Utah Dec. 3, 1913 to Jennie Cutler and Chester Eliason. She spent her early years in Stone and Holbrook, Idaho on family cattle ranches, learning the value of hard work.

Mother graduated from Box Elder High School and then attended Beauty School. She married James M. Burnett in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 25, 1934. They are the parents of four children; Dixie (Kent) Jones, Cove Fort, UT, Becky (deceased) (Frank) May, Farmington, UT, Elaine (Clarence) Jones, Huntington Beach, CA, Greg (Christy) Burnett, West Linn, OR. She has 19 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband James Burnett, a daughter Becky Burnett May and a grandson, Tyson Wayne Jones.

Mother was a wonderful homemaker. Her grandchildren will always remember her wonderful "fried chicken" and "potato salad".

She worked at the School for the Deaf and Blind and as the Attendance Secretary at Weber High School from where she retired in 1978. Mother and Dad then moved to St. George, UT for the next 18 years, returning to Ogden in 2002.

Mother loved to be with people and enjoyed dancing with her sweetheart, Jim. They were a beautiful couple on the dance floor.

Mother loved life and wanted to be busy all of the time. She enjoyed painting with oils and watercolors, especially the mountains and outdoor scenes. She loved the trees and mountains in the spring and summer months when everything was green. She loved her roses in St. George. She and Jim always had a beautiful garden in North Ogden where they raised many wonderful and healthy vegetables, which they shared with family and neighbors.

Mother and Dad were faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mother served in various callings in her ward over the years.

We will miss Mother, but we know that there is a very happy reunion in Heaven with her husband Jim, her daughter Becky, her parents and her grandson Tyson Wayne Jones.
