Mrs. Eiteman, Jack and Jill Owner, Dies
Mrs. Marjorie Virginia Eiteman, owner of Jack and Jill School, died Thursday at M. D. Anderson Hospital.
Her school at 7526 Renwick had provided pre-school training and day care for thousands of area youngsters since 1951.
Born in Fort Worth, Mrs. Eiteman came to Houston with her husband, Robert R. Eiteman, in 1944. She received her bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas Christian University and was working on her doctorate in education at the University of Houston at the time of her death. She taught in Houston public schools before opening the nursery school.
Mrs. Eiteman was a member of Bellaire Presbyterian Church
Funeral services were held Friday in Earthman Southwest Chapel, Dr. William A. Baine and the Rev. Herbert Meza officiating. Burial was in Forest Park West.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, James and Robert; a daughter, Calista Boyd, all of Houston; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. R. C. Meyer, and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Steward, both of Fort Worth.
