Opal R. Buckner, age 76, formerly of Sample Drive in West Alexandria, OH, passed away Thursday evening, December 3, 2009 at Mayfield Village Nursing Center in Columbus, OH. Born July 21, 1933 in Rockholds, KY, she was a daughter of the late Elijah A. & Bessie M. (Barton) Egnor. She had formerly worked at the Westvaco Plant in Eaton, OH and as a waitress for area restaurants. Member of Faith Community Wesleyan Church in Columbus and the Community Grace Brethren Church in West Alexandria. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Harold M. Buckner: brothers William "Bill" Egnor, Earl Egnor, Oscar Egnor, Robert Egnor and Hansford Egnor: sisters Carrie Pruitt, Florence Hill, Marbareg Noble, Sarah Egnor and Clara Egnor.

Survived by daughter Joyce D. Hunter of Columbus: grandchildren Tamara Danielle Rudder & husband Earl of Danville, OH and Michael Chase Hunter & companion Liz Slyman of Columbus: great grandchildren Erykah Nicole Rudder, Gabrielle Dane Rudder and Samantha Rose Rudder: sisters Dorothy Lee Monhollen of Rockholds, KY and Hazel Ann Miller of Fairborn, OH: brother Walter Egnor of Dayton.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Pastor Kevin Kinnison presiding. Friends may call on the family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday and 10:00 - 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to either Church in Opal's memory. Interment Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
