September 20, 2015:

John Holman Edwards, 82, of Fulton passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at home surrounded by his family a long illness.

He was born Jamuary 5, 1933 in Mexico, Missouri. the son of the late Harvey and Mabel (Holman) Edwards.

John was united in marriage to Donna J (Gossen) Edwards on June 8 1984 and inherited her four daughters and extended family.

Affectionately known as "Big John" he took over the family farm in 1947 at the age of 14, when his father passed away. He started Edwards Lime Service in 1969 and his bull dozer business in 2004. He was a life long resident of Callaway County and active in the Callaway County Fair and Hatton Fall Festival He was a charter member of the North Calllaway Fire Department. Big John was known as a loyal, strong, and hard working farmer who loved his family and friends as well as his John Deere tractors.

John is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Donna: four daughters, Vicki Leeper (Mike) of Broken Arrow Oklahome. Pattie Oestreich (John) of Fulton, Missouri, Debbie Jatho (Mark) of Springfield MIssouri and Shauna Weedon (Jeff) of Fulton, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Anthony, Eric, and Jeremy Leeper, Gavin, Wade and Keaton Oestreich, Jonathon Jatho, Taylor Fields, Kate Young, and Brayden Weedo; thirteen great grandchildren; niece, Carol Jean Oliver (Bob); nephew, Roger Sydenstricker and wife; two great nephews and many close friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Betty Sydenstricker.

Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2015, at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Richie Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service. Interment will be Callaway Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church c/o Maupin Funeral Home 301 Douglas Blvd Fulton Mo. 65251
