Donald Ralph Edwards passed from this life on February 24, 2017. Don was born at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City on September 6, 1956 to Clarine May Edwards and Ralph Edwards. He was the grandson of Don Carlos and Minnie Edwards and Phyllis and Joe Waterfall. Don was a loving and devoted son, and to so many, a great friend.
Don attended Skyline High School. While a very young man, Don learned the value of hard work and maintained an incredible work ethic throughout his life. He developed his skills as a master builder over a lifetime of work, becoming competent in all skilled trades and showing himself as a leader in the industry early in his life. His work was highlighted throughout the valley as some of the most artistic and creative. He won multiple awards in the industry, and was well-known for his artistry in the design of the "Castle" in Olympus Cove.
No challenge was too great for Don and he welcomed the "game" with a vibrant zest for life and would take on any challenge with a confidence and enthusiasm that surpassed most of us. He dreamed big, and his enthusiasm for life and his dreams was simply contagious.
His wife, Lyska, was the love of his life. Their adventures together were many and they loved simply spending time together most of all, whether it was traveling to new places or simply getting coffee on a Sunday morning. He often said that he loved her more than life....which is a pretty big love.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday March 2, 2017, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah followed by the Committal at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
