Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Patrick De Meulemeester officiating.
Burial, with military rites, will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the rosary at 6:45 p.m.
Eckert was the retired owner and operator of Eckert's Meat Market and apartments in Lincoln.
He served in the Marines during World War II.
He was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Lincoln, to Benjamin and Macle (Royse) Eckert. He married (Nancy) JoAnn Barrow on April 14, 1952, in Lincoln. She died Dec. 9, 1989.
Surviving are two sons, Randy Eckert of Akron, Ohio, and Gary (and Tina) Eckert of Vincennes, Ind.; two daughters, Carol (and Neal) Jacobson of De Sota and Becky Hummel of Normal; and 11 grandchildren, Eric Jacobson, Nathan Jacobson, Amber Eckert, William Ripley, James Eckert, Ann Michelle Eckert, Kendra JoAnne Eckert, Brittany Jo Eckert, Bridget Ann Eckert, Nicholas Hummel and Amanda Jo Hummel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three brothers. He was the last of his immediate family.
He was a member of Holy Family Church of Lincoln.
