Doris Brenckman Ebner, 92, formerly of 145 New St., died Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
Her husband of 64 years, George W. Ebner, died February 11, 1999.
Born November 20, 2007 in Hudsondale, Carbon County, she was the daughter of the late Brice Hudson and Cora Mae (Smith) Brenckman.
A 1932 graduate of Muncy Normal School, Doris worked part-time at the former Bryfogle's in Muncy from 1950 until 1960. The next 21 years she worked as head of housekeeping at Muncy Valley Hospital, retiring in 1981. She also helped her husband on their farm.
Doris was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Muncy and the Women's Organization there. She was also a member of the Muncy Historical Society and the Muncy Garden Club. Doris enjoyed fishing and camping with her family.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Christopher J. Ebner and his wife, Michele, and Stephanie J. Ebner, all of Muncy and three great-grandchildren, Courtney Ebner, Skylar Ebner and Katherine Ebner.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert L. Ebner and John R. Ebner, and two sisters, Gertrude Shelly and Cora B. Irions.
The funeral will be at noon on Tuesday, December 4, at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. David Culbertson. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon.
