From Allerton Splinters in the Times-Republican Dec. 6, 1895. "Mr. Tom Eastburn died very suddenly at Warsaw, Thursday morning of last week. He went Friday from his home near Corydon to Warsaw to visit his son Frank (Benjamin Frank), who was staying with Ol (Oliver) Gridley. Friday afternoon he seemed sick but not alarmingly so until Friday night when he was seized with a fit. Dr. McNeely was called in but he was too far gone then to do anything for and at 9 o'clock Friday morning he died. The remains were taken to Corydon for burial."

Civil War Veteran-Co K 14th West Virginia Infantry

From Civil War Pension Index: His widow, Mary E, applied for his pension Mar 3 1895. The requst was denied on the basis that he was a deserter and had not been been honorably discharged according to the records in the War Department.
