Mr. Earp enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951. He was employed with the City of Jenks for 25 years, retiring as Jenks Public Works Authority Director.
The Leon "Red" Earp Picnic and Trail was named in his honor.
He was a member of Beaver Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and three baby sons.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years; son and his wife; a granddaughter and her husband; grandson; a half sister, two nephews, and five great grandchildren.
Service for Leon Earp was held Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks. Rev. Bobby Reid officiated.
Burial was at Bixby Cemetery under the direction of Jack Selby, Bixby Funeral Service.
