Nickie attended and graduated from Rockdale High School in 1936. She married Herman Adolf Owens in 1938. After about ten years of moving around and doing farming and ranching, they settled in Channelview, Texas, where they lived for half of their 50-years of married life. She was a loving and devoted mother to their two children, Edward Earl Owens and Mary Ellen Owens. She was a loving and devoted sister and sister-in-law to her brothers and sisters.
She is predeceased by her husband, Herman Adolph; her son Edward Earl; three sisters - Henrietta Muska, Willie Lee Jefferies, and Evelyn Cornelia (Sister) Smith; four brothers - Homer Dymke, Vernon Dymke, Ronald Dymke, and Coleman Frank Dymke.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Owens of Willis, Texas, her brother-and-sister-in law W.E. and Lena Owens of Willis, Texas, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one granddaughter Elizabeth Elaine Owens Walker and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale, Texas. Interment and commitment services will be immediately following at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale, Texas.
