KIM HENRY DYKSTRA, 59, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born Dec. 9, 1952, in Racine, Wis., he was the son of Reinhart and Carrol (Husman) Dykstra. He graduated from Indiana University, Fort Wayne campus, in 1981 with a Bachelor's degree in business. In 1985, he graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne with a Masters of Divinity. He served as Pastor in Godrich, Ontario, Canada; London, Ontario, Canada; and Sturtevant, Wis. He also drove truck over-the-road for Schneider National Trucking for 15 years. He married Cathy Lee Fisher on Aug. 9, 1975. He was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. "Kim will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. We know that he is with his Lord and Savior in Heaven." Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Cathy Dykstra of Fort Wayne; son, Benjamin (Lisa) Dykstra of Avilla; daughter, Katie (Matt) Spinks of Fort Wayne; grandson, Samuel Spinks; granddaughter, Rainbow Spinks; mother and father, Reinhart and Carrol Dykstra of Sturtevant, Wis.; and sister, Sally Dykstra of Sturtevant, Wis. He was preceded in death by son, Andy Dykstra, in 2001. Funeral service is noon Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3705 South Anthony Blvd, Fort Wayne, with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon. The Rev. Steve Ensley officiating. Burial to follow funeral service in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
