Gibson, Sarah Helen Dyer Boring, 88, of Madisonville, widow of William H. Boring and Gordon Gibson, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at home. Born August 31, 1925, Helen was a lifelong resident of Madisonville and was of the Methodist faith. She was an accomplished pianist, organist, and bridge player and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, Jesse Leon Dyer and Mata Kimbrough Dyer; siblings, James M. Dyer, Martha Robinson, Dorcas White, Frank Biereley, and Ruth Cline. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Steven Standridge; son, Mark Boring and daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Boring; grandchildren, Dr. Matt Standridge, Maya Boring Shadden, Tara Standridge Burchell, Vitus Boring, Lucas Boring and Silas Boring; 9 great-grandchildren. Graveside service and interment 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, New Hope Cemetery. Public celebration of life 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, Madisonville Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for Buckner Memorial Chapel at Hiwassee College, Madisonville Presbyterian Church, New Hope Cemetery, or MACA. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
