A graduate of Pemberville High School, Ms. Dusing was a collections officer with the former Ohio Northern Finance Company. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in downtown Toledo, and a daughter of the American Revolution. A Toledo Museum of Art volunteer for many years, she was a leader in bringing in new membership to the organization.
