Everett L. Dunk of Delphi passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:20 p.m. at IU Health, Lafayette, and went to join his Lord and Savior.

He was born on April 18, 1923 in Tippecanoe County to the late Glenn H. and Iva Catherine (Holsapple) Dunk. He had attended Monitor Schools.

He married Margie Helen Fisher on May 30, 1943 in Buck Creek and she survives.

Mr. Dunk had farmed; he had also worked for Alloy Crafts and then retired in 1985 after 20 years in the Central Machine Shop at Purdue University.

He was a member of the Lafayette Church of the Brethren, Farm Bureau, and the Lafayette Boat Club.

He enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing, watching sports, woodworking and restoring vintage tractors.

Along with his wife, Margie he is survived by his daughter, Linda Merkel (husb: Bob) of West Lafayette, daughter-in-law, Diana L. Dunk of Lafayette, and sisters: Margie Bothoff of Delphi and Ruth Crow (husb: Charles) of Rossville; 5 Grandchildren: Tom Dunk (wife: Shelly), David Dunk (wife: Shelly), Mike Dunk (wife: Heather), Craig Merkel (wife: Tara), Heather Oakley (husb: Ryan) and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his son, Melvin Dunk in 2008 and his brother, Ernest Dunk in 1985.

Viewing will be on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with services on Tuesday at 10:00 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi with Pastor Steve Mason officiating. Burial will be at Pyrmont Cemetery with memorial contributions to the Lafayette Church of the Brethren. Online Condolences may be made at www.davidsonfh.com.
