Mrs. Kuhns was born Dec. 11, 1866, the daughter of George and Isabelle (Newhart) Landes, on the farm which is now the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Rex. She was married Dec. 4, 1889, to Albert P. Dunk, who died Nov. 18, 1915. In March 1927, she married Peter J. Kuhns, who died in 1940. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church and was active in its work until failing health forced her to relinquish her activities.
Besides the son, Ellis N., at whose home she died, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Myers, residing north of Pettit; four grandchildren, Mrs. Kenneth Mills, Charles Dunk, in government employe on the Hawaiian Islands; Pfc. Robert Dunk, with the Army at Fort Lewis, Wash., and Donald Dunk; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Ticen of Frankfort and Mrs. Mary Swank of West Lafayette; two brothers, Fred Landes of Lafayette, route 4, and Tilghman Landes of Burnettsville, and the following step-children: Mrs. W. P. Surbur, Mrs. Paul Baumgartner, Mrs. Woody Dupler, Lena and Hazel Kuhns, all of Frankfort, and Russell and Fred Kuhns of Mulberry, route 1.
Friends may call at the son's home after noon Friday. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church Saturday afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. M. J. Sprunger officiating, and burial will be in the Fair Haven cemetery.
