VALLEY, AL - SFC (Ret) Otis Richard "Dick" Duffee, 79, of Valley died Saturday, 14 Jan 2012 at Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, 17 Jan 2012 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Duffee is survived by his daughter, Debra (Emmanuel) Sapp of Valley, AL; two brothers Richard (Pam) Duffey of Abilene, TX and Jimmy (June) Duffee of Mt. Wolf, PA; step-daughters, Bonnie (Kelley) Rose of Simpsonville, SC, Pat (Billy) Shaddix of Valley, AL and Peggy (Gene) Sellers of Opelika, AL; two step-sons, Tommy (Brenda) Hill of Valley, AL and Larry Brown of Clanton, AL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shelby Benefield.

Born 6 Sep 1932 in Langdale, AL, Mr. Duffee was preceded in death by his wives Anita Duffee and Carolyn Duffee; his brothers Clarence, Billy and Bob Duffee; and his sister, Mary Jim Robinson.

Mr. Duffee had served in the US Army for 22 years and was a Master Parachutist. His tours of duty included Korea and Vietnam. He had been awarded the Bronze Star and the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medal.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Legion -Vietnam Memorial Fund, PO Box 307, Valley, AL 36854 - Attn: Bobby Elliott, in his memory.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, 17 Jan 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL.
