Violet Eleanor (Dupre) Abram, 93, of Acushnet, passed away, Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the Southeastern Massachusetts Health and Rehab Center, in New Bedford. She was the widow of Lester James Abram who passed away, July 16, 1953.
Born in New Bedford, on February 27, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Albertine (Bouchard) Dupre. A lifelong resident of the area, Vi was a former communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church of Acushnet and most recently of St. Joseph’s Church, in Fairhaven.
She was the receptionist at the Fairhaven Funeral Home for 31 years. A member of the Daughters of Isabella Hyacynth Circle, St. Joseph’s Senior Club of New Bedford and the Acushnet Jolly Seniors.
She is survived by a son, Robert Abram and his wife Dianne and granddaughter, Kendra Abram; She was Memere to BeckyAnne, Donald, Cameron, Amber, Cordealia, Kalib, Ophelia and Ivy Drouin of New Bedford; three nephews, Jean, Ronald and Jeff Pelletier all of Acushnet; a niece, Elaine Lyonnais of Australia; four grandnieces and three grand nephews. Godmother of Lynne McMunnigle. Violet was the sister of the late Ronald J. Dupre and Rita Pelletier both of Acushnet.

Funeral from the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, AM, in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery #1, New Bedford.
