Birth: Apr. 25, 1852
Mercer County
Illinois, USA
Death: Apr. 3, 1931
Sac County
Iowa, USA

Reese married Sarah Cline on 21 MAR 1875 in Sac Co, Iowa. They were the parents of Rush, Jessie, Elizabeth, Clara, Ruby, Ollie, and Charles.

OBITUARY - On Tuesday, March 31, 1931 Mrs. Drury died, and the following Friday morning (April 3, 1931), Mr. Drury passed away. This couple were among the older prominent residents of Early.

Mr. Drury's death was attributed to heart failure caused by grief from the loss of his wife. He had been in his usual health until the morning of the funeral, when he made his first complaint, and was unable to attend. His condition did not seem serious up to the time of his death. He had been conversing with members of the family when death came without a minutes warning. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev. E.F. Janssen, pastor, in charge, and assisted by Rev. J.L. Whitney. Interment was made in the Early Union cemetery by the side of his wife and two sons.

Mr. Drury was born April 25, 1852, in Mercer county Illinois, and was aged seventy-eight years, eleven months, and eight days. In 1862 he moved with his parents (Isaiah Drury & Martha Jane Leich) to Marshall county, Iowa, where he lived until the spring of 1880, when they moved to Sac county. He was married to Sarah Ann Cline, March 21, 1875. Mr. Drury was born, raised, and lived all his life on a farm, with the exception of the last three years, when they moved to Early.

Mr. Drury was a splendid man, good citizen and neighbor. He will be greatly missed in the community. He leaves to mourn his departure, seven children: Rush, Mrs. Lewis Simpson (Jessie), Mrs. Clarence Steele (Clara), Mrs. Henry Reinhart (Ruby), Mrs. Charles Jensen (Elizabeth), and Ollie at home, and Charles of Starbuck, Minn. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister. One brother is James of Storm Lake.

Relatives and friends who attended the funeral from away were: Will Drury of Rushville, Nebr.; Charles Drury of Starbuck, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Daugherty and son Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Drury, Mr. and Mrs. Will Drury, W. C.
