Mrs. Lucille G. Drew Succumbs

MINDEN--Mrs. Lucille Grigsby Drew, 84, widow of the late Judge Harmon C. Drew and mother of Reb. R. Harmon Drew, passed away Saturday morning, August 10 at 9 a.m. in the Meadowview Nursing Home.

Born in Dubberly, Louisiana on March 25, 1890, she was the daughter of Dr. Samuel M. Grigsby and Mary Elizabeth Myers. A life-long resident of Webster Parish, she had lived in Minden since the age of two. She was very active in Church and civic affairs.

Mrs. Drew was preceded by her husband and only daughter, Mrs. Katie Drew Carey.

She is survived by her son, R. Harmon Drew; six grandchildren, Dr. Thomas D. Carey, New Orleans; Mrs. Caldwell Drew Colvin, Springhill; Richard D. Carey, Mrs. Katie Carey Holland, R. Harmon Drew, Jr., and Mrs. Beth Drew White, all of Minden, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 11 in the Rose-Neath Chapel. Rev. Robert Park officiated. Interment followed in the Minden Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Harry McInnis, Warren Deitrich, A.Q. Hackett, Robert L. Moreland, David Williams, Bobby Biles, Cecil Campbell, and Ed Shuler.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Minden Association for Retarded Children, the American Cancer Society, or the Dorcheat Historical Association.
