CORA IRENE CLINE

MATTOON – Mrs. Cora Irene Cline, 93, formerly of 809 Edgar in Mattoon died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday (May 12, 1983) at the Hilltop Nursing Center in Charleston.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Bula officiating.  Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery, southeast of Neoga.  Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cline was born Aug. 25, 1889, in Roslyn, Ill., a daughter of Perry and Effie Smith Downey.  She married William C. Cline in Toledo Sept. 4, 1910.  He died Oct. 18, 1937 in Mattoon.

She is survived by a son, Paul of Aurora; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Vera) Craven of Syracuse, Ind. and Mrs. Harry (Catherine) Steele of Mattoon; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mattoon and the Dorcas Sunday School Class.  She lived in Mattoon since 1924 and prior to that in Cumberland.
