Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Floyd Eldon Dow, 62, passed away Saturday, August 25, 1990, after an extended illness.

He was born June 13, 1928 in Vernal, Utah, a son of Walter John and Rosetta Taylor Dow.

He attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School in 1947.

On December 16, 1949, he married Indra Louise Marberger in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a High Priest in the Ogden 55th Ward where he served in many positions. He was always a faithful member of the Church and was an example of goodness to all who knew him.

He was a paint contractor and well known in Ogden for his perfection on the job. At the age of 40, he lost his eyesight due to complications from diabetes. Through this experience he learned that the beauty of a person comes from within and not from without. Determined to start a new life he left alone in his new dark world to begin schooling in Cincinnati, Ohio. There he completed a 9 month course in computer programming for the blind. He then worked at the Defense Depot of Ogden for 20 years as a computer programmer. He received many awards for his work there including handicapped worker of the year.

In spite of his blindness, he was a contractor and enjoyed building many beautiful homes for his wife, whom he dearly loved.

He loved to fish, dance, snow ski, golf and talk of the telephone to the many people he cared so much about.

He is survived by his wife and the following three children and spouses; Kriss and Jill Dow, Jay and Peggy Whitesides; Brucy and Terry Cook, and 19 grandchildren, all of Ogden.

Also surviving are two sisters, Elaine Taylor and June Jones.

He was a devoted and caring Husband, Father, and Friend and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop D. Edgar Allen officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday Noon to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.

The family wishes to express our thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Clearfield CareWest Nursing Center for all their tender love and care.
