Ina Faye Douthit Childress, 97, longtime Bowlegs, Oklahoma resident, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Ina was born January 14, 1918 in Heavener, Oklahoma to Lottie Mae Simmon and James Lloyd Douthit.

Ina was the 2nd of eight children and they grew up in the plant 13 area, south of Seminole, Oklahoma. The "Douthit boys" were avid baseball players, and Ina would go in and play for them, when one of the boys had to sit out, she could play with the best of the area boys. Ina was a homemaker and a very dedicated member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church.

She married Tom T. Childress on March 13, 1937 and they made their home in Phillips, Texas for many years until in 1958 they moved back to Bowlegs, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1977.

She is survived by her five children, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, Lindy and Lila.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Truman, Herman, John, Riley and Don Douthit and two sisters, Eddie and Bea Webb.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Wolf Cemetery. Services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, Oklahoma.
