“Mrs. Nancy E. Doty, 88, passed away yesterday at the residence of Mrs. Charles Colvin on Johnson Avenue. Mrs. Doty was a native of Indiana, but crossed the plains in 1851 to California where she resided continuously from that time. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: John Doty of Owens Valley; Jacob R. Doty of Edna; Henry F. Doty of the Arlington District; Mrs. Mary E. Kaiser of Santa Cruz; Mrs. Lydia F. Lemen of Los Angeles; Mrs. Ida M. Colvin of this city; and Mrs. Emma J. Compher of Bakersfield. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon fro the Richardson Parlors with interment in the IOOF Cemetery.”
