|Death: ||Nov. 8, 1756|
Daughter of Colonel Thomas Doty.
She married Perez Tillson in Plymouth
on November 20, 1746.
Note on Elizabeth's father Col Thomas Doty:
Thomas Doty only son of Thomas Doty and
Elizabeth Harlow, b. Plymouth, Mass., Jan.
Colonel Thomas Doty, mariner, soldier and
innkeeper, was undoubtedly the last member
of his branch to bear the family name, Doty.
The exact date of his death is not known,
but as he was at this time eight-six years
of age, it probably occurred soon after and
at Stoughton; nor is there on record anything
to indicate the date of his marriage or the
name of his wife. Tombstones on Burial Hill
at Plymouth, alone furnish the items that
show that he had an only daughter.
(Col. Thomas Doty removed to Stoughton at
least as eary as 1770, in the house which
has become historical under the name of
"The Doty Tavern.")
