Traveled horseback, two wheel cart, horse & buggy (Old Ross in picture). Crossed river by ferry boat; wore out 3 Ford cars. Came to Bend with his wife Arebell Tomblinson, 1882. Owned & operated general mercantile store with son, Lawrence. "No nights too dark or road too long to serve his fellow man." Erected by those who loved him - July, 1965"
