Carol J. Olander, 59, of Mechanicsburg went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2009. Born June 27, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Max and Juanita Doss, she was a true Texan at heart. She worked in the grocery industry for over 30 years spending the last 9 years as Director of Customer Service for Giant Foods. She had a passion for helping people and loved spending time gardening. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John W. Olander, five children: Kevin and Eva Cole of Fox River Grove, IL, Rebecca and Brett Hutchison of Spring Branch, TX, Chris and Sara Olander of Winside, NE, Amy and Howard Hobson of San Antonio, TX and J.D. and Beth Olander of Melbourne, FL. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Andrew McClain, Justin, Megan and Brandon Cole, Jacob, Joseph and Brayden Hutchison, Micah Carson, Fauneil, Eddie and Allan Olander, and Emma and Dylan Olander. Survivors also include her mother, Juanita Alexander, brothers Dan (Jackie) Doss and Larry Doss. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Sue Doss, her father, Max Doss, her stepfather, Bill Gentry and her mother-in-law, Darline Olander. The Lord also blessed her with friends who have helped care for her over the last few years.
The family will hold a visitation Tuesday, December 1 from 6-8:00 PM at Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St., Camp Hill. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 2 at 10:00 AM at Neill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maskell Cemetery, Maskell, NE.
