25 Jun 1902: Mrs. Amanda E. Dorwart Dies at the Home of Her Son-In-Law, Frank Donahue - After a lingering illness extending over a period of nearly a year, Mrs. Amanda E. Dorwart, widow of the late Jonathan Dorwart, of Lancaster, died in this city Sunday at the home of her son-in-law, Frank Donahue, of 617 Lehman street. She suffered from a complication of diseases and her death was not a surprise as she failed rapidly during the past few weeks. She was aged 82 years and comes from a family remarkable for longevity. Her father, Adam Messencup, of Lancaster, was a veteran of the War of 1812, and died at an extremely old age, and her mother died at the age of 97 years. There are four surviving children, none of whom reside in this city except Mrs. Donahue. The deceased had resided here for about sixteen years and since the death of her husband.
