YOUNGSTOWN – Vera M. Clinkscale, 59, departed this life and entered eternal rest Tuesday at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
Mrs. Clinkscale was born July 15, 1947 in Oakland, Tenn., a daughter of Charlie and Mosie L. Humphrey Dortch.
She was employed with General Motors Lordstown as an assembler for 35 years, retiring in 2002.
She was a former member of the Great Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ, where she served on the usher board and sang in the Senior Choir. She was presently a member of New Beginning Outreach Ministry.
Her love for hats and clothing led her to become co-owner/operator of A & V Hats and Accessories. She loved to sing and visit the sick and shut-in and give them an uplifting word of encouragement.
She also enjoyed cooking, traveling, and being with family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son, Martin L. Clinkscale of Youngstown; three sisters, Dorothy (James) Tillman of Detroit and Shirley Dortch and Linda Cox, both of Youngstown; two brothers, Jimmie (Pam) Dortch of Huntsville, Ala., and Charlie Dortch Jr. of Oakland; an uncle, Jimmie Humphrey of Oakland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the New Beginning Outreach Ministry, 322 Wick Ave. in Youngstown.
Funeral services will be held in Oakland.
