Marvin Arnold Dorman, the son of Fred and Louisa (Lager) Dorman, was born at Ocheyedan, Iowa on August 21, 1904. He lived his youth and received his education in Osceola County.

He was united in marriage to Hulda Storm on August 16, 1928 at Cherokee, Iowa and to this union four children were born. Following their marriage they lived at Hartley for three years and moved to Sanborn in 1931 where they lived the remainder of their married life. While residing In Sanborn, he was employed by the railroad and later the City of Sanborn. He entered Prairie View Home at Sanborn on November 25, 1989 and he died there on August 13, 1993 at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 22 days.

He is survived by his children: Fern and Daryle McGranahan and Marlow and Bernice Dorman, all of Sanborn, Donna and LeRoy Alons of Pantego, N.C. and Kenneth and Mariel Dorman of LeMars; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, one brother-in-law, Ted French, and four sisters: Nora Mesch of Worthington, Minn., Goldie Olsen and Vivian Wollin of Mt Lake, Minn., and Irene Shaul of New Ulm, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hulda, three brothers and four sisters.

He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church at Sanborn. Marvin will be remembered by his family and friends for his special hobby of "tinkering."

Funeral services were held August 16 at St John's Lutheran Church. Sanborn with Rev. Kenneth Funke officiating. Casket bearers were Conly Dorman, Greg McGranahan, Rodney Alons, Jay Dorman-Downing, Randy Lyman and Mike Dummett Honorary bearers were Scott Alons, Laryl Vanden Berg, Allen Egdorf, Kralg Vogel, Keith McReynolds, Andy Pope and Tony Nixon. Burial was in Rose land Cemetery, Sanborn with Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
