JoAnn M. Dorcey, age 75 years, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 , at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Clare. A celebration of life will be held Saturday June 16th, at 11AM at the Farwell United Methodist Church. Pastor Connie Bongard will officiate. Friends may visit with JoAnn's family at the church from 10 AM until the time of service. A luncheon will be served following. Interment has taken place at Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw.
JoAnn was born on December 27, 1936, in Gagetown, MI, the daughter of A. Wesley and Eleanor (Forbes) Dafoe. She was married to William Dorcey on May 28, 1960 at Grace United Methodist Church in Flint. Together they raised three children and were blessed with one grandson.
JoAnn worked as a Registered Nurse for General Motors Saginaw Division, retiring in 1991. She was very active in her church and loved to travel with Bill and his race team. She was very compassionate and giving. Jo was known for her cinnamon rolls, making dishcloths, potholders, "scrubbies" and making sure you had a full belly.
JoAnn is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Bill, two sons; William J. Dorcey, Jr. and Leah, Mark W. Dorcey and Maureen, one daughter; Julie A. Dorcey-Thompson, husband Mike, and grandson Justin, a brother; Philip Dafoe, five sister-in-laws; Helen, Elsie, Janet, Clarissa, and Ethel, brother -in-law; Tom and wife Helen.
