Kathryn "Pegi" Cantrell, 85, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Pegi was born in Sumner, Miss., to the late Kathryn Doom Everett and Arnold Otho Doom. She had an absolute love for life and was actively involved in many activities. She was actively involved in politics and served as the Tarrant County host for the Republican Party. She had a love for gardening and canning and always shared with family and friends. She owned Miss Texas Hats and made custom hats for the Miss Texas Pageant. She and her husband, Bill, loved traveling all across the country in their RV and took cruise vacations often. They enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their vacation homes in Red River, N.M., and Possum Kingdom Lake. We celebrate Pegi's life and rejoice that she is reunited with the love of her life, William E. "Bill" Cantrell, who preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors: Daughters, Candi Cantrell Kynard of Fort Worth and Wendi and TJ Mears of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Kerri and Brad Williams of Fort Worth, Brian and Kathi Mears of California, and Ryan and Mary Kynard of Fort Worth; and five great-grandchildren.
