CHESTER: Mrs. Atha Irene Clark Dodds, 90, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her home. The funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Bayliss Adimaro and Mr. Cooney Wishert officiating. The interment will be at Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dodds was born March 16, 1924 in the Wilksburg area of Chester County, SC. She was a daughter of the late William Isaac Clark and Daisy Gregory Clark. She attended Brockman High School in Chester and was retired from Chester Sportswear as a seamstress and also worked with Springs Industries and was a homemaker. She was a former member of Wilksburg Baptist Church and present member of New Hope United Methodist Church and also a member of “Mature Years” at Armenia United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Colvin Moore Dodds.

She is survived by two sons, William Oscar “Bill” Dodds (Patti) and Steve Dodds (Fran) all of Chester; ten grandchildren, Joey Dodds of Ridgeway, SC, Sheri D. Patton and Christi D. Stover both of Columbia, Will Dodds (Becky) of York, Dwayne Grant (Gina) of Lockhart, Kevin Grant (Tracey) and Brian Grant (JoAnn) all of Chester, Stephanie D. Bishop (Scott Dean) of Blackstock, Eva D. Poston (Tony) of Chester and Mike Dodds of Winnsboro; thirteen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel C. Sanders and Betty Clark both of Chester; son-in-law, Eddie Grant of Chester. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two children, Linda Dodds Grant and Michael Colvin Dodds.
