Mrs. Mary Etta "Dolly" Knowles - a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Knowles was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and served as the cafeteria manager for St. Pius X Catholic School for 38 years. She was a graduate of Bishop Toolen High School and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. "Sonny" Knowles. She is survived by five children, Ralph J. "Joey" Knowles, Mary Joy "Cissie" (John) Steber, Paul Knowles, Michael (Ashley) Knowles, and Norma Jean (William) Knowles; one brother, Norman Joseph (Lois) Dobson; three grandchildren, Jody Knowles, Matthew Edwards, and Daniel Edwards, all of Mobile, AL; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mrs. Knowles family would like to express their appreciation to her caregiver and friend, Elaine Thomas, for the kindness, compassion, and support shown to their mother. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 22, 2008 from St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, with the Rosary at 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Pius X School Endowment Fund. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery. Con-celebrants were Reverend Monsignor Joseph G. Jennings, Reverend Monsignor Francis V. Cusack, V.G., Reverend Monsignor Peter J. Cunningham, and Reverend L. Russell Biven. Deacon of the Mass was Deacon William L. Tew, Jr. Pallbearers were Jimmy Edwards, William Edwards, Drew Zimlich, Robert L. Constantine, III, John Steber, and Danny Giles. Interment was in Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. Published in the Press-Register on 12/23/2008
