Died at Altmar, April 2, 1933, Sarah Alida Doane. Sarah Alida Doane was born at Belle Rock, Canada, March 9, 1863. She was the daughter, of Austin, and Elizabeth Smith Thurston. She married Henry Doane, who died several, years ago. For many years, Mr. and Mrs. Doane made their home on a farm just outside the village limits and there she passed, away early Sunday morning.

Mrs. Doane had been in failing health for some time. She was a member of tihe Altmar Methodist Episcopal church. Surviving are five children, Charles, George and Earl Doane of Watertown, Harry Doane of Altmar, and Mrs. Golda. Thornhill of Fernwood; a sister, Mrs. Harriet Sellers of Ogdensburg; one brother, Cyrus Thurston of Ontario, Canada, and a half brother, Edward James of Bell e Rock, Canada. The funeral was held from her late home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Josiah Lloyd of the Altmar M.E. church, officiated and the sons acted as bearers. Burial in the family plot in Riverside cemetery.
