CERRO GORDO - Visitation was Oct. 14, 2001, with graveside services Oct. 15 at Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, for Clarence A. Ditzler Jr. of Cerro Gordo. He leaves wife Shirley Cundiff Whitaker Ditzler of Cerro Gordo, mother Nellie Marie Sanders Ditzler and sister Linda Sue Brown and husband Mike of Hammond.

Also surviving are sons Chris Whitaker of Midlothian, Texas, and Curt and wife Melissa Whitaker of Kenosha, Wis.; daughters Martha Ditzler of Austin, Texas, and Lois Medrano and husband Frank of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Andrew "Drew" and Ashley Whitaker of Fort Worth, Texas, Lane, Ethan, Spencer and Savanah Whitaker of Kenosha, Wis., Karina and Jose Antonio "Tony" Medrano of San Antonio, Texas; uncles Homer and wife Wilma Sanders of Decatur, Robert and wife Mary Sanders of Florida, Frank Sanders of Tower Hill, Clarence and wife Virginia Sanders of Macon, Roy and wife Beulah Sanders of Holiday; aunts Margaret Lines and husband Charles of Shelbyville, and Betty Ditzler of Hinton. He also leaves 25 cousins.

Mr. Ditzler was preceded in death by his father Clarence A. Ditzler Sr., grandfathers William Ditzler and wife Minnie Perryman Ditzler, and William Grover Sanders and wife Nellie Devor Sanders; uncle Clark Ditzler; aunts Dorothy Sanders Bauer and (infant) Rosa Sanders.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital's 5100, IMC and respiratory therapy for the loving care given to Clarence. Thanks also to oncology staffs, Dr. M. Irshad and family physician Dr. William Shackelford.
